Praxis have found that what most people often really want and need is:

• Sympathetic advice and help whether in R and D, Production, Post Production, or Running a Business.

Whether:

• By helping develop and “sell” your film idea (a kind of Exec Producer role) or
• Providing an overview, a safety net for actually making your film or films (again a kind of Exec Producer role) or
• To help set up, develop or initially run your micro business or “indie” (a kind of Non Executive Director role in company terms).

Praxis have much experience of these roles and situations with young or developing filmmakers and media entrepreneurs. We are thus piloting this Mentoring role this year.

ONE TO ONE ATTENTION and MENTORING

What would we actually do? We would meet with you, talk with you, offer face to face, e mail and phone support and contact.

All projects are different, but we would bring industry knowledge to the project or development in terms of research and development, copyright, markets, financial, commercial awareness, legal, production and distribution strategy, points and possibilities. More specifically:

• FOR R and D, PITCH, SELL, taking essentially an EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ROLE

We would help take any idea from origination to pitch. We would talk it all through with you, do our own background research, consult and assist in the proposal document and possible markets, advise on pitch, debrief, and further strategy possibilities. In effect, we would be there for you from start to finish, helping you to develop, pitch and crucially PLACE AND SELL YOUR PROJECT.

• AN EXEC PRODUCER ROLE in PRODUCTION or POST

We would agree specific roles and possibilities and take on the classic role of Exec Producer.

• SETTING UP / RUNNING / DEVELOPING A MICRO BUSINESS or “INDIE”

Again we would agree and define specific roles and possibilities, and take on the classic role of Non Executive Director.
