Making films about Science, Business and Economics is a specialised pursuit, which Praxis has pursued on occasions. Arguably these three inter-related areas are the key drivers of the modern world and social developments. Hence they are vital areas for film makers to concern themselves and their audiences with.
The problem is these are areas that are not naturally visual. Ideas and words predominate rather than images. But that is the challenge and joy of filmmaking, and we are quietly proud of the way we visualised ideas in the clip below.

A 40 minute film that explored how computers underpin all aspects, both big and small, of modern life - including business, food, government, industry, the military, retail, science, transport. Arguably the first film to warn how such reliance on computers could spell dire problems, both big and small, to individuals, communities and countries from glitches, mistakes, over-reliance, attacks and terrorism.
“This film could have been apocalyptic in its tone. The subject and revelations certainly deserve it. Instead the film quietly shows our reliance on computers. It oh so quietly warns how vulnerable our society is if things go wrong, whether through problems or terrorism. The film was all the more special for the restraint.”
