A course led by two experienced producer-directors, and unique individual follow up mentoring and tutoring. People who attend will have the basic foundations and much more in order to be effective factual storytellers whether as directors, writers, researchers or producers. They will have an array of storytelling, writing and directing approaches to think through and apply to any situation whether in R and D, pre-production, on the shoot or in post.
Specifically:
- We will explore practical, effective, readily applicable approaches to storytelling and writing for documentaries and factual television relating to structure, narrative, characters, commentary, dialogue, practicals and style.
- From this thinking, the storyteller and director develops and determines their approach, specific visual style and film making techniques to be used on screen. These areas will be explored in depth.
