Some would put this type of film under Current Affairs. Others would place them under Social Issues, or Anthropology. For Praxis such films are part politics and / or economics and part current affairs. The intellectual issues in those areas are often then exemplified by the social ramifications or issues, which are then brought to life by human stories. Real people feel the effects of actual decisions made by those on high.
As filmmakers, getting the balance right between those levels of subject matter and characters is the trick of it.

Much of it filmed covertly, this film explored the political, economic and social situation in Zimbabwe. “California heaven without Yanks”, one local humorously dubbed it while cataloguing the evils of the dictatorial Mugabe government as she stood amidst the remnants of her home destroyed by the police, surrounded by the wreckage of the bulldozed township she had called home for the 20 years ever since we last filmed her.
Oddly this film did not provoke a single review.
